N-Force Blue Bone Substitute Material (BSM) is a biomimetic calcium phosphate with similar chemical and physical properties to natural cancellous bone.1–3 It flows readily into cancellous bone, then crystallizes and sets hard in an isothermic reaction at 37˚C to form a macroporous scaffold1. N-Force Blue BSM is replaced with new bone during the healing process.4
N-Force Blue BSM can be used in conjunction with the N-Force Fixation System®.
The N-Force Blue BSM is injected directly into a N-Force® Fenestrated Screw with the use of a sheath, allowing void fill and increasing structural support of the implant.5-6
- Nanocrystalline* calcium phosphate is comparable to the formulation of human bone mineral N-Force Blue BSM = Ca10-x(M)x(PO4)6-x(HPO4,CO3)x(OH)2-x = Bone*1
- Can be implanted both by injection through a fenestrated screw, single syringe or molded, which gives the surgeon multiple delivery options
- Provides an osteoconductive scaffold for new bone growth while undergoing cell-mediated remodeling4 as the bone heals, without sacrificing structure
- Isothermally sets hard in 10 minutes at an average compressive strength of 7-9MPa.8
- Slow setting for optimal handling characteristics to reduce the possibility of thermal necrosis development
- Provides 15 minutes of working time to allow for intraoperative flexibility
