The Pediatric Vari-Angle Hip Screw System (PVHS) is indicated for
fracture fixation in the proximal and distal regions of the femur. The
PVHS utilizes a unique variable angle hip screw design that allows the
surgeon to achieve optimized implant-to-femur fit without the
constraints of standard, fixed neck-shaft angle devices.
Selling Points:
- The VHS Pediatric Hip Screw System is used for fracture
fixation in the proximal and distal regions of the femur. In
particular, indications for use in pediatric patients are as
follows:
- Congenital coax vera
- Congenital dislocation of the hip
- Subluxation or dislocation secondary to neurologic disorders, such as cerebral palsy, myslomenigocele, poliomyelitis, etc. Usually valgus-anteversion deformities
- Coxa plana (Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease)
- Adjustment capability from 110° to 148° allows intraoperative manipulation of fractures or osteotomies
- Unlike fixed angle devices, the Biomet Pediatric VHS System allows the surgeon the advantage of compression and additional reduction of the fracture after fixation is achieved
- Reduced hospital inventory
- Single tray of ergonomically designed instrumentation
