Biomet Multi-Axial Correction (MAC) Fixation System

The Biomet Multi-Axial Correction (MAC) Fixation System was designed to fill the need for a unilateral system to accomplish what circular fixation can accomplish. The Biomet MAC System can gradually angulate and translate in the sagittal and coronal planes simultaneously. It is one of the simplest devices for achieving gradual and acute rotation.

Selling Points:

  • System is highly modular and can be integrated with existing systems, such as Biomet Vision Pin-to-Bar System, Biomet Carbon Rail System, DFS Hybrid Rings, etc.
  • Adult and XS sizes to suit very small patients and larger patients in a non-weight bearing capacity. Adult size for many patients with malunions, and younger patients with deformities who are larger in size.
  • System is also capable of unilateral, hybrid and ring-to-ring configurations
  • Ring Distraction mechanism allows user to gradually distract between two rings. Only Biomet offers ring distraction from a single point. The patient only has to make one correction, not three or four, as with circular fixation systems.
  • Available in five sizes of rotating rings-four adult and one XS. When using the Biomet rotating rings with the Biomet MAC System, it is possible to attain up to 150° of gradual rotation, with a 1/4 turn to 1° rate of correction.
